Week-1 Done

So the first week is over. I think that we are still in the honeymoon phase. We have all been testing the waters of what the boundaries are.

What I did first, was to lay down the rules... what would not be acceptable at all. Since she's 16 and has a well developed personality, I figure we can share in path on what she can or will do, together.

The most interesting part, is I am the stay home parent. So, I get to do the running round, the pick up and drop off at school, the cooking, etc... We did bake cookies on Saturday and bake Mediterranean Sour Dough bread on Sunday. Both were fantastic.

Mostly, it's my son who has been the most obnoxious. I am not sure if he's trying to impress our Foster or he's the youngest in the family and now we have a new member of the family, or he's just at the uber obnoxious 13 year old... I guess I will have to find out soon, or there might be a big knock-down, drag-out verbal confrontation and correction which might have to take place. (For those that you don't like the fact that I discipline my children - Tough. They need it and according to most studies, they want that kind of structure.)

Oh, one fun little thing about the 16 year old, I told her that she is required to have what ever young man talk with me, in a personal interview prior to any date she may want to have. She claims not to want to date, but that may pass... and when it does, I will be meeting and hopefully scaring that young man enough as to avoid even impure thoughts. (Dad's prerogative).
